port call

This country has seen an increase in port calls from cruise ships since 2010 and will see improvements in the number of calls for 2012-2013. The first port call for the 2012-2013 cruise season was made on 1st November in Bequia, while the second will see Ventura making a call at Kingstown on Monday 5th November 2012.

Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture, Cecil Mckie, during a news conference, said that the number of calls had seen an increase from 2010 to 2012. He also noted that as the Ministry of Tourism continues the necessary promotional work, along with work from agents and other stakeholders, the calls from cruise liners to this country should increase even more.

Minister Mckie stated that three ships, two of which have passenger capacity of over 1000, will make inaugural calls to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The three cruise ships are Vision of the Seas, Revirera and the Christina Katrina.
