Students across the nation assembled at the Victoria Park on 23rd October, for the Schools Independence Rally, in commemoration of this country’s 36th Anniversary of Independence.
The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the National Independence Committee, hosted the rally under the theme “Working together to enhance national pride”.
One of the highlights of the rally was the official announcement and presentation of the 2015 national scholarship awards. These awards were presented to the top performers in this year’s Caribbean Advanced Level Proficiency Examinations, (CAPE). The student with the best results overall will also receive the Prime Minister’s Award for academic excellence.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Hon. Girlyn Miguel, delivered the feature address.
