On Tuesday, 12th August 2025, at the Sunset Shores Hotel Conference Room, the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture officially opened the National Inception Workshop for the Closing the Caribbean Plastic Tap Project; a three-day initiative aimed at tackling one of the most pressing environmental threats in the region: plastic pollution.

On Monday, 11th August, 2025, the UWI Global Campus was the stage for a landmark moment in the cultural and intellectual life of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; the official handover of Volume I of the History of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Native Genocide and African Enslavement to 1838 and the unveiling of The Last Battle by celebrated artist Sir Calvert Jones. 

As part of Emancipation Month 2025 celebrations, the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture will on Monday, 11th August, 2025 host the Official Handover of Volume I of the History of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the UWI Global Campus, Kingstown, starting at 7:00 p.m.
