In a vibrant show of solidarity and awareness, staff of the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture proudly wore mismatched socks on Thursday, 21st March, 2025 in recognition of World Down Syndrome Day.

This global observance aims to promote inclusion, advocate for the rights of persons with Down Syndrome, and celebrate their contribution to society. 

The mismatched socks campaign, an internationally recognised symbol of World Down Syndrome Day, represents the beauty of diversity and the importance of embracing differences. Staff members across the Ministry enthusiastically participated, sparking meaningful conversations about the need for greater acceptance, accessibility, and equal opportunities for all individuals, including those with Down Syndrome.

 

  

As a Ministry, it is recognised that tourism thrives on diversity, and our industry must be one that welcomes everyone. The staff members stands in support of individuals with Down Syndrome and reaffirm dedication to promoting inclusivity in all aspects of life, including tourism and sustainable development.

  

World Down Syndrome Day is observed annually on March 21st. The Ministry’s participation aligns with its broader mission to create a more inclusive tourism sector and advocate for accessibility within national development initiatives.
