The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture is pleased to announce Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ participation in the Closeout Meeting for the ReMLit and Recycle OECS Projects, taking place from 26th-28th March , 2025.
The country is being represented by Mrs. Tyshana Thomas-McNichols, Environmental Resource Analyst I in the Sustainable Development Unit, and Mr. Tahj Marksman, Acting Solid Waste Manager at the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA).
The ReMLit (Reducing Marine Litter) and Recycle OECS projects have played a crucial role in advancing sustainable waste management and reducing marine pollution across the Eastern Caribbean. These initiatives, implemented with the support of regional and international partners, have focused on improving waste collection systems, promoting recycling, and strengthening policies to protect marine ecosystems.
Mrs. Thomas-McNichols and Mr. Marksman will contribute insights from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ experience in implementing project activities and will engage in discussions on the next steps for maintaining momentum in waste reduction efforts. Their participation underscores the government’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability and the promotion of best practices in solid waste management.
The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that safeguard the environment and enhance resilience against pollution and climate change.
