Entitled “Native Genocide and African Enslavement in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to 1838”, this seminal work was authored by four distinguished Vincentian historians Dr. Adrian Fraser, Dr. Arnold Thomas, Dr. Cleve Scott, and Dr. Garrey Dennie. The event will also feature a lecture on “Our Vincentian Civilisation: Retrospect and Prospect”, reflecting on the nation’s journey and its vision for the future, by Dr. the Honourable Ralph E. Gonsalves.
“This is a landmark moment in documenting our history for present and future generations,” said Dr. Tamira Browne, Permanent Secretary (Ag.) in the Ministry. “The handover of Volume I not only preserves the stories of our past but also reinforces our identity as a people.”
The event forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding cultural heritage, promoting historical literacy, and ensuring that the lessons of the past inform the progress of the future.
Members of the public are invited to attend and be part of this historic evening of reflection, knowledge sharing, and national pride.
