On Tuesday, 17th February, the Zero Hunger Trust Fund, under the remit of the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development, hosted a media launch highlighting the Trust’s achievements over the past decade and outlining a calendar of activities to commemorate its 10th anniversary.
The launch also underscored the Trust’s continued impact across the length and breadth of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
In his remarks, Hon. Dr. Kishore Shallow, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, and Sustainable Development, commended the work of the Zero Hunger Trust Fund, emphasising the importance of dignity, empowerment, and sustainable support for vulnerable communities. Minister Shallow expressed appreciation to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for its longstanding bilateral support, as well as to multilateral organisations, private-sector partners, civil society groups, and other stakeholders. He also highlighted the bipartisan support enjoyed by the Trust, noting the national importance of its mandate.

Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Safiya Horne-Bique, presented the schedule of commemorative activities, which will include:
- April 1 – Commemorative opening and Zero Hunger Dialogue; Community Call to Action; launch of the National Essay and Art Competitions
- April 5 – Volunteerism and Giving-Back Week
- April 6 – Zero Hunger Day
- April 26 – National Thanksgiving and Reflection Services
- April 30 – Zero Hunger Gala and Awards

The programme also featured an overview by Mrs. Jocelyn Blake-Browne, Deputy Chief Education Officer, titled “10 Years of Impact and Visioning for the Next Decade.” Beneficiary perspectives were shared by Mrs. Roslyn Marshall, Principal of the Calliaqua Anglican School, and Mrs. Angella Kydd-Roberts, Principal of the Fair Hall Government School, who highlighted the tangible benefits of the Trust’s interventions within the education sector.

The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, and Sustainable Development invites the public to support and participate in the 10th anniversary activities of the Zero Hunger Trust Fund, in furtherance of Sustainable Development Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security, and improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.
