St. Vincent and the Grenadines has a new ambassador in the form of Miss LIME, Shadeisha George. George is the winner of the 59th Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines Beauty Pageant which was held on Saturday May 31st at Carnival City Victoria Park.
Apart from winning the coveted EC$80,000 university scholarship, EC$8000 and the crown, George also won two of the four contested categories. Wearing a gown designed by Kimon Baptiste, George copped the award for best evening gown while she also won the best talent segment with her dance entitled 'Footprints' (choreographed by Jomelia Pope). "I'm extremely elated and hard work definitely pays off", said George after being crowned by Miss SVG 2013 Shara George.
Coming in second in the keenly contested pageant was Miss Mustique Co. Ltd., Karla Gellizeau. The Edinboro beauty also won the best swimwear category of competition. "I'm so very happy. This is so surreal because it is something that I have been working towards", said Gellizeau.
In third place was Miss Agricultural Input Warehouse, Shackell Bobb. Apart from winning the best interview segment, Bobb was also given recognition for having the best attendance at training sessions while she was also recognized for being the most community spirited. The photographers also said Bobb was the most photogenic.
Meanwhile, Miss Lotto, Jamilla Neverson, was recognized for having the best community support during the road trips while the other contestants said that Miss Super 6 Vanika Hope was Miss Congeniality.
The other contestants and their sponsors are Miss Imperial Optical Inc., Fellisia Baptiste, Miss Metrocint General Insurance Co. Ltd., Selis Blair and Miss Bequia Beach Hotel, Tatiana Lespierre.
The 59th Queen of Carnival pageant was held under the theme "A combination of passion and brilliance".
George will represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Miss Carival show on Friday July 4th 2014.
